In summer of 2005, we sold our Virginia home, took a sabbatical, and sailed our classic (old) sloop from the Chesapeake Bay, to our new home in western Michigan. Our route took us from the Chesapeake Bay, up the Atlantic coast to New York, up the Hudson River and the Erie Canal, and through the Great Lakes to our new homeport on Lake Macatawa.This started out as our boat log, uploaded periodically to an online blog as a means to update friends and family.
