My First Boat

I am interested in getting a boat and having it near the Ft. Myers area. I would like this boat to be able to make it to Key West and be able to handle some seas. It doesn’t have to be super fast just economical. I guess I am wondering what type of boat should I get such as a trauller or a sport fisherman and how many feet is the best. Should it be gas or a diesel. Please keep in mind that this is a first boat it doesn’t have to be in absolute pristine condition. I am pretty handy and can upgrade interior, electronics, and powerplant. I am what you like to call a “weekend warrior” in fact I prefer it. I am looking to spend around 20,000 to 40,000 maybe more it depends. So an older boat is probably what I am looking for but it has to have a good hull. If anyone knows anything that would help me out I would appreciate it.

2002 288 Mid Cabin Sunsation

Description: This is a like new 2002 288 Mid Cabin Sunsation with a 496HO 425HP Mercury engine with a Bravo 1 drive. It only has 153 hours!!!! Of those 153 hours only 105.9 hours are on the engine, further description below. The remaining hours are from leaving the key on. I had a registered Sunsation shop go through the entire boat mechanically. It has had all the fluids changed and a complete check up and is ready for water. The boat has never been in salt water. It has power bolster seats, power engine hatch, fresh water sink, porta pottie, not to mention the stars and stipes paint. This Sunsation boat is one of a kind, paint scheme by Mitcher T, guaranteed to turn everyone?s head out on the water. Until recently it has been stored in climate controlled storage. If you would want a picture of a specific thing please let me know, and I will try to get to you ASAP. Brunswick announces start of 200 and 300 hp Verado Mercury Marine engine production

1996 Bowrider

Description: This is a low hour fresh water use only boat. The hull is a 8 while the upper deck is a 7 due to some spider cracks in the gel coat. The interior is in great shape with no rips in the seats. All the guages work including a depth finder.The duoprop out drive has just been serviced with a new water pump installed with two recent stainless steal props. The engine is a 5.7 volvo fuel injected and runs flawlessly. This boat will run all day on plane at 2800 rpm, and is economical. A nearly new dual axle bunker trailer is included. Trailer is equiped with surge brakes and chrome fenders. This package is offered well below book value, we just don’t use it anymore, you won’t find a better deal for this type of boat.
