“People are really starting to count their warranties,” said Lou Vazquez, director of marketing and dealer development, in a telephone interview.

My First Boat

I am interested in getting a boat and having it near the Ft. Myers area. I would like this boat to be able to make it to Key West and be able to handle some seas. It doesn’t have to be super fast just economical. I guess I am wondering what type of boat should I get such as a trauller or a sport fisherman and how many feet is the best. Should it be gas or a diesel. Please keep in mind that this is a first boat it doesn’t have to be in absolute pristine condition. I am pretty handy and can upgrade interior, electronics, and powerplant. I am what you like to call a “weekend warrior” in fact I prefer it. I am looking to spend around 20,000 to 40,000 maybe more it depends. So an older boat is probably what I am looking for but it has to have a good hull. If anyone knows anything that would help me out I would appreciate it.

SALON: Walking into the shore powered air conditioned salon you’ll be greeted by a port settee and opposite to starboard is the convertible dinette. The Panasonic TV and VCR are built into the hardwood bulkhead forward port side which also houses the circuit breaker panel. The new Sony speakers sound great too! The settee seats 4 and when folded down will sleep two adults. The air is kept fresh and clean via a Living Air 880 air purifier when the windows are closed. Fully carpeted and well lit and lots of headroom with built in rod holders is what this large salon has to offer. MASTER STATEROOM: Moving forward through the stateroom door reveals the large double berth angled to port with storage under it and a hanging locker to starboard. Description: This is a low hour fresh water use only boat. The hull is a 8 while the upper deck is a 7 due to some spider cracks in the gel coat. The interior is in great shape with no rips in the seats. All the guages work including a depth finder.The duoprop out drive has just been serviced with a new water pump installed with two recent stainless steal props. The engine is a 5.7 volvo fuel injected and runs flawlessly. This boat will run all day on plane at 2800 rpm, and is economical. A nearly new dual axle bunker trailer is included. Trailer is equiped with surge brakes and chrome fenders. This package is offered well below book value, we just don’t use it anymore, you won’t find a better deal for this type of boat.
