My First Boat
I am interested in getting a boat and having it near the Ft. Myers area. I would like this boat to be able to make it to Key West and be able to handle some seas. It doesn't have to be super fast just economical. I guess I am wondering what type of boat should I get such as a trauller or a sport fisherman and how many feet is the best. Should it be gas or a diesel. Please keep in mind that this is a first boat it doesn't have to be in absolute pristine condition. I am pretty handy and can upgrade interior, electronics, and powerplant. I am what you like to call a "weekend warrior" in fact I prefer it. I am looking to spend around 20,000 to 40,000 maybe more it depends. So an older boat is probably what I am looking for but it has to have a good hull. If anyone knows anything that would help me out I would appreciate it.
