it is only 9.9 not 10 because some lakes have horespower restrictions. Also in nj if you ae 13 years old you can drive any boat with less than 10 horsepower
thank you
wow!!!! I am impress……
heyman i got the same motor! but i don’t know how old it is? can you please tell my or some1 else??
Nice dave, how come we never get invited to go fishing?
That’s not a 9.9 hp….you cheat.
what hp do you think it is ? 15 maybye
that is a 9.9 i have the exact same one.
Loved this so. Brought me back to my childhood and wonderful memories cruising around on little boats like this on White Meadow Lake.
is this a 2 stroke??
sweet video man
that is a 9.9 I have one also on my 14×36 boat it will hit about 22 with 2 guys in it 25 with just me.. Good video awesome motor!!
too bad it’s a mercury…
i got a simiar stepu . flys
Great video. I am looking at an identical set up right now and your video is very telling! Thanks. Tell me… is yours a 1232 or a 1236? Can you comment on how stable you find the boat with 2 people? Thanks!
how come when i put a 6hp on my 12ft jon boat it neally flips on me
@marlowe5555 I’m not sure if it’s a 1232 or 1236… bought it used and the I.D. plate is worn off a little. The boat is surprisingly stable with two “larger” guys on it. I am 6’3″ and can stand [carefully] with no problems. If I had my way though, I would like to buy a 14 footer and a slightly wider beam. But the 9.9 is definitely well-suited to the 12 foot… I am getting fired up about fishing/boating season again! Good luck.
@haydenmtb3 Maybe you have too much weight in the stern? 6hp shouldn’t do that… try balance your weight better and trim (tilt) the motor down some. My 9.9 doesn’t “flip” me, so not sure how your 6hp could.
@TheBassBros Thanks! Looking forward to the new season.
@boatbros23 Yeah it is. A rather badly-tuned two stroke, I’ll add! Need to have a tune up this season.
@Vatniekaknie thanks for the reply it gets on the plane really good with 2 people and goes fast but when i go by myself it gets a bit crazy
wow you are haulin
@Etrician55 If you fall out, the motor stops ”killswitch.
Whats the difference between a short shaft and long shaft motor? Does the short shaft have the handle throttle only? And does the short shaft get put on 10-12 foot vhull aluminum boats? I’m looking into buying one and thought getting used ones peice by peice would be cheaper.
that is not a “badly tuned two stroke” as you put it, boatbros. If you knew anything about 2 strokes it should be that they all idle like that… and thats what makes them so great! they arent glass smooth like 4 strokes when they idle
where did u get the boat and the motor and wat was the cost? I’m looking for one
